Potential sources include NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183, GPS and AIS data, with suitable physical interfaces per configuration.
Product / SeaGate
SeaGate is the proposed scalable gateway family — XS, S, M, L and XL — for consolidating marine data paths, routing information to onboard IP services and supporting modern marine computing workflows.
01 / Platform philosophy
The planned SeaGate lineup spans compact gateway applications through more capable onboard data and service platforms. Tier allocation, hardware interfaces and processing specifications are still in definition.
Potential sources include NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183, GPS and AIS data, with suitable physical interfaces per configuration.
Marine protocol adaptation, data filtering, mapping and network routing based on an explicitly validated data path.
Network access for clients such as Signal K, OpenCPN and other compatible IP applications.
02 / Proposed portfolio
| Model | Indicative position | Potential focus | To be defined |
|---|---|---|---|
| SeaGate XS | Entry-level | Compact instrument-to-network bridge | I/O, processor, OS |
| SeaGate S | Small gateway | Core marine network interfaces | Network and interface count |
| SeaGate M | Multi-interface | Expanded routing and application integration | Service capability, ports |
| SeaGate L | Advanced platform | Greater onboard data aggregation | Performance, wired / wireless options |
| SeaGate XL | Extended platform | Higher-end connected marine services | Compute, media and expansion scope |
The model names are planned; the tier descriptions above are preliminary positioning rather than published feature commitments.
03 / Architecture candidates
Linux-based variants are being considered with NXP i.MX processors, selected from i.MX91, i.MX93 and i.MX95 candidate families. LinRT Yocto is a potential BSP foundation for appropriate configurations; no processor-to-model allocation or Linux release is committed here.
