ENGINEERING & SOFTWARE

Designed by Digital Data Software, LLC. Powered by KingSail Software.

BlueCoral marine electronics integrate KingSail Software frameworks for onboard communications and connectivity. The framework components are selected according to each product’s interfaces and platform.

KingSail Software frameworks

01 / Core technologies

The marine interfaces behind the roadmap

VESSEL NETWORK

NMEA 2000

CAN-based marine data networking. Integration requires network-specific transport, messages, physical-layer design and conformance assessment.

SERIAL NAVIGATION DATA

NMEA 0183

Widely used serial marine navigation sentences. Physical interfaces, baud rates, talker/listener topology and application framing are device-specific.

LOCAL WIRELESS

Bluetooth

SeaCOM Bluetooth products prioritize a cost-conscious, long-range design for onboard data access. Final radio performance, transport profiles and receiving-platform compatibility require engineering qualification.

ONBOARD IT

Ethernet & IP

IP networking for marine data distribution to navigation workstations, onboard services and gateway consumers.

DATA MODEL / SERVICES

Signal K

A modern marine data model and server ecosystem targeted for selected onboard gateway architectures.

LEGACY & MODERN

SeaTalk paths

Potential interworking with selected Raymarine / SeaTalk environments, requiring the proper adapter and protocol implementation.

02 / Platform architecture

Hardware, transport, services and applications

NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 are distinct technologies. A gateway may bridge selected data between them, but this requires defined conversion semantics and cannot be assumed to preserve every message.

03 / Engineering roadmap

What must be qualified before release

01Electrical design

Power, ESD, protection, isolation, wiring and EMC.

02Protocol correctness

Frame/sentence handling, mapping and error conditions.

03Interoperability

Target software, OS, wireless transport and vessel configurations.

04Marine qualification

Environmental, regulatory and product-specific standards.
